Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers, Inc. (IAF) is a non-profit social and educational group dedicated to supporting local atheists, freethinkers, secular humanists, agnostics, and other non-religious people.
We are a warm and welcoming community of humanists, atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, and non-theists of all types. Our goal is to create a supportive space that encourages connection, growth, and understanding among those who share non-religious perspectives.
IAF seeks to enrich the lives of everyone who joins us through explorations in science, philosophy, history, and the arts, providing opportunities for learning, discussion, and community engagement.






































What We Do
The primary purpose of Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers is to provide a strong, welcoming community for non-believers in Iowa.
Our group is run by members, for members, and we rely on volunteers to help us succeed. We strive to offer a variety of opportunities, including:

Our Goals
At Iowa Atheists and Freethinkers (IAF), our goals are to:
Share our non-religious view of the world with the community by participating in various local events.
Be more educated on religious issues ourselves.
Provide members with ample opportunities to meet like-minded people, socialize, network, and make friends.
Normalize atheism in the minds of people in our communities by engaging in meaningful community service projects.
We are also proud to be affiliated with a number of national and international groups devoted to atheism, freethought, and secular humanism.
